Hebrew Studies

The first thing to do, of course, is to learn the language. Learning Hebrew is one of the most important skills to help new olim integrate into Israeli society and can open the door to many employment opportunities. The Ministry of Integration and the Regional Council of Gush Etzion offer multiple ways to learn Hebrew:

  • Public ulpan, in Jerusalem

Misrad Haklita offers a free intensive Hebrew course for new olim within their first 18 months post-aliyah. Public ulpanim have class 5 days a week.

  • Voucher Ulpan, in Gush Etzion

This ulpan meets locally (with a zoom option) 2-3 times a week in small groups (4 to 10 pupils). Students within 10 years of their aliyah are fully reimbursed by Misrad HaKlita pending 80% attendance.

  • Weekly Hebrew lessons

The Gush Etzion Regional Council provides highly subsidized weekly conversational Hebrew classes for all levels, which are open to all of our residents.
